I've switched to playing with PHP. As my second exercise, I made a page which shows:

These pages are the semi-private experiments of one dog attempting to learn new tricks. In this case, my first desperate attempts at CSS and PHP, borrowing from books and on-line sources.

I'm not worrying about browser-specific tweaks at this point, just the basics.
